A must for lovers of London's history, the walls of our great city pub could tell a few stories! Originally built as a Victorian gin palace, The Viaduct Tavern is on the site of a debtors' jail affiliated to Newgate Prison. It's a little more welcoming these days!

Our ancient pub wears its history on its sleeve, with period pieces everywhere you look. At the rear of the bar you'll see a booth where the Victorian landlady would sell gin tokens to customers - a system put in place because her staff couldn't always be entirely trusted!
